Diversity Memphis Walks
Diversity Memphis Walks InfoDiversity Memphis Walks honored Rev. Joe Tagg this year. Father Tagg was a major proponent of the walk and annually raised money so that the young people from his parish could particiapte and recieve a t-shirt. In fact Father Tagg was honored nationally for raising more money in the Faith category than any other regional office in the country. The walk first began in 1999 as Walk as One and was held at the National Civil Rights Museum. Since then it has been held at Tom Lee Park, AutoZone Park and returned time and again to the National Civil Rights Museum. In 2004 the walk, a 5K through historic downtown Memphis, added a street festival atmosphere with tents, balloons, facepainting and entertainment featuring a sample of the multicultural diversity of our community. Through all of its efforts, you the walkers, the teams of companies and our faith communities have joined on this day to showcase who we are and what we can be. Thank you for attending, volunteering and contributing, if you have questions contact us at the office, 901.405.9555. We look forward to you being a part of this years walk and our efforts!
