Freeland
2008 Freeland Camp
FreeLand Youth Camp is scheduled for July 6-12, 2008.
Our youth camp, named after long time supporter Dennis Freeland, brings together high school students from diverse backgrounds to provide opportunities for leadership, learning and social engagement. We believe that young people are our future and by broadening their horizons we can change our world. FreeLand is a weeklong residential camp, day and evening gatherings introduce delegates to a unique experience. Social networks are established, prejudices examined, and the opportunity to create a land free from bias, bigotry and racism becomes a reality.
Freeland Youth Camp, formally Anytown, has been held in Memphis since 1984. Over 2,000 young people have participated and are holding positions in our and other communities. This is a unique opportunity for students to develop a network of friends throughout our community. Applications and brochures are available online and delegates can register online. Scholarships are available and if you identify a student as needing a scholarship, we will assist them with their needs for camp. If you have any questions or need further information please contact us at 901-405-9555.
Fees for the camp can be paid by credit card, check or cash and are due Prior to camp. Fees paid at the time of application are $200 for the week, if paid later are $250 for the week. In the event of a family emergency or conflict, cancellations will be refunded with the exception of a $50 processing fee.
